GREECE  SAILING  CHARTERS
Kostas aand Lynda sailing StressBuster
Your crew and hosts for your sailing holiday in Greece, Kostas
and Lynda, met several years ago during a Greek-Islands flotilla
organized by
Cruising World magazine, where Lynda was
managing editor. Their shared passions for sailing, exploring,
and cooking tied them together. Now they are married, own and
operate an Atlantic 70,
Stressbuster, and sail as a team; captain
and crew/cook. Be their guests and let them show you the
Greek Islands from the perspective of both a native Greek and
an American who fell in love with the country (and a Greek!).
Let them also share with you their home-style preparations of
delicious Greek and Mediterranean cuisine.If
Stressbuster is
booked during the time you want to sail in Greece, or if you
have a large group, and want two boats for your trip, we can
arrange other boats for you.
Kostas  Ghiokas

Kostas was born in Glyfada, a southern suburb of Athens  that was
the venue for the 2004 Olympic sailing events, in 1954. His passion
always has been the sea and boats. He was an Olympic-class sailor
in the Finn Class when he was in high school; thereafter, he received
a degree in naval architecture from Athens Technical College.
Though he has designed somewhat, he found the office environment
wasn’t for him. The ocean called him back, and he returned to the
sea and sailing as a professional captain in 1980. He is a Royal
Yachting Association-licensed Yacht Master and loves to share his
knowledge of sailing, Greek history, and the beautiful Aegean Sea
and islands with guests. He speaks English fluently.
Lynda Morris Childress

Lynda was born in Newport, Rhode Island – some call it the sailing capital of
the world – in 1955. Her love of the sea was born early, as she grew up in a
house by the ocean where boating was a regular part of recreational routine.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island with a
degree in English, and in 1981, went to work for a publication that combined
her two passions – sailing and writing
Cruising World magazine. She liked it
so much she stayed for the next 20 years, eventually becoming managing
editor, a post  she left to live and sail in Greece with her husband, Kostas.
Her other passion is cooking and food; she continues to edit the magazine’s
popular
People & Food column and write articles as a contributing editor. She
speaks passable Greek (though she is not as fluent in the language as Kostas
is in English), and is happy to teach  guests a few easy Greek words that will
open doors for them and earn smiles from the natives.
